Laura & Daniel | Our Cotswold wedding day | Stonehouse Court Hotel | 30th July 2016

Tucked away at the Southern edge of the Cotswolds is a 17th century manor house set in six acres of stunning grounds overlooking the Stroud Water Canal and rolling hills of the Stroud Valley. On a fine summer’s day, Laura and Daniel took each other hand in hand, eye to eye to the eternal path of marriage. With Laura enjoying the comfort of the hotel, Daniel arrived in my favorite wedding car to date…a 6.4 litre V8 Chrysler Challenger muscle car. Daniel had no idea about the car nor that I would be capturing his moments with this fine tuned car. Speaking of fine tuning, I got some classic shots of the men getting fine tuned at the hotel. From doing up the neck ties to adjusting collars, this wedding had a specific request from Laura and Daniel, to capture things in reportage style. This style is a skill that require Patience and timing. You either have it or you don’t when it comes to reportage or you are either extremely lucky or you are not.

It was a nice change to photograph a wedding ceremony outside and with the weather blazing at 26 degrees, this was the right choice. With the perfect venue, I was looking out for the amazing wedding coordinator here from last year, Maz. Approaching with a warm smile was a young chap named Dominic. I asked him where Maz was and he replied that Maz got promoted to manager of the hotel and that he is now the weddings coordinator. Dominic did not disappoint and was most helpful and organised throughout the day. Keeping things local for the make up was Natalie Ricciardi from Gloucester who was very innovative and fresh. Catherine took control of the hairstyling who coincidently was at a wedding I photographed here last year but as a guest.

Stonehouse Court is one of those venues where there are so many tucked away photography hotspots such as the canal, the church and tower. I am returning here in September for another wedding here and look forward to it very much. What memories await…? But before I leave you to enjoy the memories I have captured at this fantastic wedding, I want to give a special message to Lily…. “Ooh yeah!”
