Latoya and Scott | Our Wedding Day | Shire Hall | Holiday Inn | Cambridge | 1st September 2017
It is not often one finds a house photogenic and the mother of the bride’s house was exactly that. With a blend of nostalgic Hepburn-Monroe memorabilia, shabby chic black and white decor, everywhere I looked had something to give my mind an overload. I instantly knew exactly where the wedding dress was going to be shown off.
Meanwhile back at the ranch, I heard an awesome sound coming from the back of the house…a 1946 MK6 Bentley 4.3L straight 6! What a beautiful wedding car to take our bride Latoya to her wedding at Shire Hall. I featured the car in a few of the wedding photos with the very helpful driver Mike. I used some of my styles I used when I was taking abstract photographs whilst I was travelling in Greece many years ago. We must never forget our old styles as this where evolved from but it is what we do today that defines us.
After the sweet ceremony when two became one for all eternity, there was only one thing on ALL the guest’s minds…the confetti shot. The last time I saw this much confetti was at Amy and Jonny’s wedding at Anstey Hall. However, this wedding was equipped with 10 confetti canons and the result, was pure bliss. Enjoy the super fast triggering of my Olympus camera to enjoy the freezing of each petal…
After a few pics of the new Mr and Mrs at Shire Hall, we then went on to the reception at the Holiday Inn at Histon, Cambridge. I have only ever done wedding fairs at this venue and never as a photographer. It was nice to see what it looked like as a wedding venue. You do need to be a bit more creative than usual here but with the help of a 1946 MK6 Bentley and blue but cloudy skies it was game on.
